Curriculum Overview
At our school, we have designed a knowledge-rich and vocabulary-rich curriculum that inspires curiosity, fosters a love of learning, and makes the most of our beautiful local area. We follow the CUSP curriculum – an unapologetically ambitious, evidence-led approach that uses strategies such as retrieval practice, spaced learning, and interleaving to help knowledge stick. Explicit vocabulary teaching and research-based pedagogy are at the heart of what we do.
Our aim is to prepare children not only for the next stage of their education, but also for their future lives. We nurture the whole child, helping them to become confident, respectful individuals with high aspirations and a strong sense of purpose. We want every child to know who they are, why they matter, what they might become, and how they can make a difference in the world.
Our rolling Curriculum Maps ensure that all aspects of the National Curriculum 2014 are taught through engaging topics and discrete subject teaching. These will be available to view soon. We also use Little Wandle to support the teaching of phonics and reading across the school.
We are proud to be an inclusive school, providing high-quality support for pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our experienced staff are dedicated to ensuring every child thrives, and we have successfully reintegrated pupils into mainstream education from other settings.
